Safety & security

Volunteer safety is managed by Bear Creek Community Church, not by TangerineMed. Please read these expectations before you apply.

  • Screening: church staff review every application. Background checks and church approval are required for childcare, safety and security, and any role working directly with children or alone with guests.
  • Two-adult rule: never serve alone with a child or youth. Children's areas are always staffed by at least two approved adult volunteers.
  • Safety and security team volunteers watch entrances, parking and waiting areas, keep walkways clear and report concerns to church staff. They do not carry out law enforcement, detain anyone, or provide armed security.
  • Emergencies: call 911 first, then notify church staff on site. Clinical emergencies are handled by TangerineMed staff, never by volunteers.
  • Privacy: do not view, repeat, photograph, or write down anything you see or hear about a guest's health, and never enter health details on this site.
  • Your own information: only church staff can see your application, shifts and hours. Other volunteers cannot.
